College of Education Academic Services

The Academic Services Division is responsible for admitting graduate and undergraduate students to the programs of the College of Education, maintaining all student files, processing and certifying that degree and teaching certificate requirements have been met, and assisting graduates in securing professional positions. As the initial contact point for prospective students at all degree levels, the Division provides information and advice concerning Academic Programs offered, Admission Procedures,Teacher Certification, College of Education Forms, Teacher Placement Services, Graduation, and Final Qualifying Examinations for Doctor of Education & Doctor of Philosophy Students and  maintaining degree requirements and regulations and policies pertaining to the College and the University.

The Academic Services Division also provides the following services for faculty, staff and students:

  • Evaluates transcripts of College applicants for majors, minors, grade point averages, and general requirements.
  • Admits graduate and undergraduate students to the College.
  • Provides counseling and advising for students seeking information about College of Education programs.
  • Monitors student plans of work at the undergraduate, master's, Education specialist and doctoral levels.
  • Monitors the academic probation system for the College.
  • Maintains files on all College of Education students.
  • Certifies completion of College and University requirements for graduation, and teacher and administrator certification for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Monitors scholarship rolls and all grade change requests for the College.
  • Provides placement services for graduates.
  • Maintains curriculum guides and brochures for programs in the College of Education.
  • Compiles and monitors development of the schedule of classes for all Education courses
  • Monitors and prepares final copy for the College of Education portions of the Graduate and Undergraduate Bulletins.
  • Develops course equivalency tables for community colleges
