Every student deserves highly qualified teachers and all schools need excellent teachers, school psychologists, counselors and administrators. Our needs here in the College of Education relate particularly to providing well-prepared professionals for schools, the bedrock of our society. Our goal is to provide individuals who are properly prepared to serve the children and young adults in our state. We also prepare experts in adult learning and workplace learning who enhance the skills of the Michigan workforce. It costs a great deal to provide the qualified personnel and learning environment all schools deserve. There are many areas of need in the college for which gifts can make a significant difference, especially in a time of increasing college costs and decreasing state support . We face many challenges in reaching our goal of providing quality programs in these difficult times. The university now depends on more private gifts to realize its goals. We are constantly striving to meet these challenges. I hope you will take a moment to review the College of Education's Goals for the future. We are counting on you to become our partner in the challenging and rewarding endeavor of professional preparation in education. Your help is much needed and much appreciated! Paula C.
