College of Education Scholarship Information

Through the generosity of private donors, the College of Education provides students with over 100 scholarships per academic year, ranging from $500-$5,000 each, with most at the $1,000 level.

Scholarships are available to students enrolled in the College of Education whose cumulative grade point average is a minimum 3.2 (unless otherwise stated in the scholarship description).

The deadline for scholarships for the 2008-09 academic year was November 16, 2007. Applicants will be notified on or about May 1, 2008 whether or not they have received a scholarship.

Students interested in applying for scholarships for the 2009-10 academic year will find the application and instructions on the college website in mid- September, 2008. The deadline for submission is tentatively November 20, 2008.

Scholarships for Art Education and Art Therapy students are awarded three times a year. Click on the link below for the scholarship application and instructions.

Scholarships for Mathematics Education Students

The Detroit Area Council of Teachers of Mathematics (DACTM) annually sponsors $1000 scholarships for elementary and secondary mathematics education students who have reached junior or senior status and have an overall GPA of at least 3.0.  If you are interested in applying, access the DACTM website at:  www.dactm.org   for further eligibility criteria, requirements, application and instructions. The deadline for submission is December 15, 2008.
