Education Specialist Certificate with
Emphasis in K-12 Technology Integration

Minimum Number of Hours: 36

This emphasis is designed for:

  • Those who already have a Master’s degree, typically in an area other than Instructional Technology, and are interested in applying principles of Instructional Technology in school settings. Students already holding an IT Master’s degree will have specially designed programs that provide further development of this specialty area. It is possible for a student to apply Educational Specialist work to a doctoral program.

Background:

  • Master's degree is required and teacher certification is recommended.

Specializations:

  • Students may choose to enhance their competencies and job opportunities by constructing plans of work with a double emphasis that combines K-12 Technology Integration with either Interactive Technologies or Performance Improvement and Training.

A Plan of Work documents your strategy to complete the degree requirements. It is usually created during IT 7100; it must be submitted prior to completing 12 credit hours. Plan of Work form (Word 6.0 format)
