Instructional Technology Student

The University and the College of Education provide a rich setting for Instructional Technology students.

College Facilities

IT lab A business-oriented state-of-the-art computing laboratory dedicated to Instructional Technology; includes capabilities for producing multi-media instruction with digitized video, professional desktop publishing, and a variety of instruction design and management tools.
  • Wireless network access throughout the Education building (your notebook computer's Wi-Fi card can be configured to access the building network)
  • Portable laptop carts for classroom computer applications
  • A Mac laboratory emphasizing computer graphics, materials development, video editing and school applications
  • A PC laboratory emphasizing school applications
  • A professional video editing suite
  • A media and materials production laboratory; includes basic audio-visual presentation and production equipment, as well as computer, film, and video equipment
  • An Education Technology Center that includes student computer workstations, general materials and technical support for College of Education students and faculty
  • A University-wide research consulting and statistical laboratory located in the College

University Facilities

  • A library system encompassing seven separate buildings and over two million bound volumes, 14,000 current periodicals and a media center
  • A Computing & Information Technology Center which manages two large mainframe computers and separate user areas throughout the campus and metropolitan Detroit to facilitate student access
