21st Century CATs:
Classroom Assessment Techniques Go Techno
A Blended Workshop for College of Education Faculty
January 28 - February 11, 2005
Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) are well-researched methods to easily, quickly, and frequently collect feedback on student learning. As the name suggests, traditional CATs are designed for classroom implementation. This workshop transforms CATs into a 21st century teaching tool! TechnoCATs use technologies to enhance the power of traditional CATs while retaining their capacity to gather valuable data on how well your students are learning. In our first face-to-face session you'll learn how to select the right CAT for your instructional goals and how to transform that CAT into a TechnoCAT. You'll also get first-hand experience at participating in a TechnoCAT. During the two weeks between sessions, you will design and implement a TechnoCAT in one of YOUR classes. You will also participate in two workshop TechnoCATs. At our final face-to-face session we'll share experiences and discuss other ways to use TechnoCATs.
