United Nations
UNESCO Education for All. An initiative to promote effective education for all children worldwide. Inclusive education is viewed as a central component of this process. The Salamanca Statement was developed and adopted by the United Nations at a conference representing 92 nations regarding inclusive education for students with disabilities in 1994. In a follow-up to this commitment, UNESCO engaged in an initiative to spur an increase in inclusive education in some 20 countries throughout the world in the Inclusive Schools and Community Support Programme.
