This meeting will combine the features of a lecture series, roundtable discussion and working conference. It will be located at Wayne State University on July 18, 2008. There will be:
•An opening keynote speaker
•Distinguished Moderator-led questioning of the speaker
•Meetings of online communities
•A panel of nationally distinguished African American education scholars, policymakers and practitioners to address the intersection of practice, research, and policy as they relate to African American children.
•After a brief introduction, each of the panelists responds to questions posed by the moderator -- a distinguished educator.
•Visionary dialogue regarding research, policy and practice between audience and panel.
•Action Group meetings (1 ½ hours). The Audience will be divided into small groups for brainstorming, planning, working on the Mission of ISAAC.
Presentation handouts and transcripts will be available on the ISAAC website.
